Our client is a major E&C firm with many years of experience in the design and construction of commercial nuclear power plants and a global growing backlog of significant projects. In this position you will provide technical and administrative management over the cost control engineers, planning engineers and scheduling engineers. You will also ensure that all cost and scheduling policies and procedures are implemented with the uniformity and consistency across all Divisions. You will provide managerial and functional control over all Project Controls staff, both in the home office and field locations.
*Prefer someone willing to move to New Jersey, but might consider someone who does not want to make a permanent move.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Oversees the functional, financial and marketing support to assigned Division Manager(s).
Makes assignments of personnel for Project Controls tasks and projects.
Evaluates personnel performance and makes decisions regarding hiring, promotion, merit increases, termination and training of Project Controls personnel.
Leads the development and implementation of systems, procedures and training programs for Project Controls.
Interfaces with Senior Management and Division Managers to resolve any significant systematic issues or concerns impacting Project Controls on projects within the Company.
Manages the overhead budget for the Project Controls cost center.
Provides guidance and direction to all project Controls personnel in the development of their professional potential.
Keeps abreast of the state-of-the-art developments in Project Controls including software, by attending meetings and seminars and by soliciting related literature.
Reviews and approves the initial set-up of schedule/cost/earned value and the establishment of project baselines for all major and/or high risk projects under his/her areas of responsibility.
Conducts periodic reviews of the cost and schedule status of significant projects.
Ensures that all cost and schedule policies and procedures are up to date and being followed across the Company.

EDUCATION: BS in Engineering, Management or Business; MS or MBA Preferred PE Preferred

EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 15 years of experience in the development and execution of cost and schedule control systems, of which at least 5 years were in a supervisory role. Must have an overall proven experience of more than 20 years. EPC and government project experience essential.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Strong interpersonal skills. Advanced working knowledge of computers, Primavera Project Planner (P3) software and a variety of other industry standard project management software.
