$140,000 - $190,000 Depending on Experience / Seniority
Job Description:
* Position reports to Mechanical Supervisor and/or Facilities Mechanical Engineering Manager.
* Responsible for both independent work and contractor oversight on mechanical engineering design works (including piping and fixed equipment) in connection with major worldwide projects.
Contractor deliverables to be reviewed may include Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment arrangements, equipment specifications, data sheets, vendor proposals, and technical studies.
* Project activities in which participation may be expected include design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor bid evaluations, and project readiness reviews.
* This individual must be capable of functioning independently on technical work with limited, administrative supervision.
* Position requires flexibility with respect to domestic and international travel AND near immediate relocation to worldwide locations (American oil company expatriate payroll & family status) for a period of several years.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. (Masters & PhD’s welcome.)
* Demonstrated mechanical design experience in upstream oil and gas facilities and/or LNG facilities onshore or offshore.
* Prior major integrated oil company experience is preferred. EPC, A&E, or E&C type experience will be considered IF there are relatively few employers during that period of time AND your resume shows significant major project AND broad based responsibilities in mechanical facilities engineering.
* Demonstrated recent experience and in depth knowledge of relevant codes and practices, including BOTH API and ASME.
* Demonstrated project experience at the senior professional level on a major, upstream or downstream project in the oil and gas industry.
* Experience should include both FEED and EPC activities as a significant player and company person.
* Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design standards and codes. Expectation is for a rapid comprehension of the company’s engineering practices.
* Good verbal and written communications skills (English language) and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Owner/Operating Company experience or equivalent is strongly preferred.
* Proficient in the MS Office suite of software programs and Lotus Notes.
* Capable of design and optimal equipment selection of complex equipment applications (i.e., Oil & Gas Production, LNG/NGL or other cryogenic systems, or other fixed equipment systems).
* Capable of design and equipment selection for emissions control.
* Possesses good knowledge of engineering verification and equipment design audit requirements
* Capable of developing procedures for testing, installation, commissioning and startup
* Capable of developing requirements for operating, maintenance and inspection procedures
* Capable of verifying work is consistent with good design practices, realistic operating assumptions, and low lifecycle costs
* Capable of developing detailed equipment specifications including pre-commissioning, testing, and assessing vendor qualifications and quality programs
* Capable of selecting optimal metallurgy.
