Our Client is a SaaS company which has been on a fast-paced growth trajectory since inception in 2012. They offer an innovative online contractor management solution, which is targeted at heavy industry. Their customers are in a variety of heavy industries including construction, oil & gas, mining, and energy.
We have been retained to find an experienced Sales Director/SVP Sales to drive increased sales and market share in their business, resulting in sustainable growth in revenue. The Sales Director/SVP Sales will demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, great leadership skills and a “roll up the sleeves” attitude to getting things done. Experience in a start-up/early stage environment is a must.
With a proven track record in the growing sales in a SaaS business, the successful candidate will play a leading role in the future growth and development of the business. This will be a global role, responsible for all sales, and located in New York. You must be available to travel.
Achieve sustainable year-on-year growth of market share in the regions in which they operate
Take complete ownership of the delivery of revenue targets,
Drive the sales team to deliver and exceed revenue targets – lead from the front
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, - seeking out major clients and forming relationships with the biggest operators in their target customer base.
Lead and manage a team of 16 Business Development Managers and 16 Lead Generators, spread across Europe and the USA
Grow the sales team, identifying and hiring the best talent in the industry
Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
Collaborate with other parts of the business, in particular, the Marketing and Customer Success teams.
Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for the Board
Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time and complete all. Excellent presentation and communication skills are required. A proven track record of delivery in a commercially focused role is a must.
Proven experience as a commercial director or other relevant roles, ideally in a business selling industrial software or Human Resources software.
Success in growing sales in an Early Stage/Start business
Proven experience in growing sales through sales and marketing activities and managing relationships with key clients
In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
