Rail Signals Manager

Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, delegating and carrying out all work required to ensure that safe, effective and efficient transit service is provided to the customers related to the Signal Department.
Establishes performance objectives for all sections of the Signal Department, ensuring that all employees understand the objectives and develops actions plans to achieve the objectives.
Ensures that signal and train control systems are in compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration, Title 49, CFR Part 236.
Inspects, tests, installs and repairs railroad signaling and train control systems, as well as vehicular traffic equipment, on a specified territory of railroad.
Schedules department manpower, tools, and equipment to provide adequate maintenance coverage during revenue train operations.
Prepares inspection reports for management, customer, and governmental compliance.
Ensures that direct reports perform inspection and repairs of the signaling and train control systems in compliance with FRA regulations and standard industry practice.
Responsible for being on-call after normal business hours to troubleshoot and repair
signaling and train control systems, in the event that the signal technicians on-duty are in need of assistance.
Minimum of 7
years in the railroad signal and train control field; Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
Computer skills needed:
MS Office, Maximo, field diagnostic equipment
