Lead EE, World Class Mission Critical Data Center Construction
Location: Douglas County, GA (30064)  Relocation Assistance Available
Compensation: Salary in low hundreds, plus bonus and outstanding benefits package
(Compensation is flexible and will be tailored to the advantage of the successful candidate, based on salary history and relevant experience)
About the Opportunity: The Mission Critical Data Center market continues to experience explosive growth.  As a result, demand for experienced construction firms to build data centers far outpaces supply.  This accelerating demand for fast, low latency, highly secure mission critical data center capacity puts pressure on every player in the supply chain. Because the construction market is woefully under-automated, many builders are still unable to meet the speed, quality and cost constraints required to satisfy the mission critical data center demands of the world’s largest technology firms (e.g. Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, IBM, etc.)  Our client is one of the few – if not the only -- construction firms that have invested in the people, lean processes and the enabling technologies critical to keeping pace with skyrocketing data center growth.
About the Client: A leader in the deployment of key construction technologies and application of Lean and LEED processes and philosophies, our privately held, employee owned client is enjoying sustained profitable growth.  In virtually every geographic market it serves, our client is consistently ranked among the “best places to work”, as well as the safest and the healthiest work environment.  Nationally, our client is ranked among the top construction firms in it’s core market segments.  Unsurprisingly, our client is successfully redefining how the construction industry works.  Their award winning software solution has revolutionized construction projects through broadly tested best practices, continuous improvement and lean construction principles.
If your background and experience are in line with the qualifications and experience outlined below, you will have the opportunity to interview a privately held, employee owned firm that is growing rapidly – and profitably – in large part due to the compelling value proposition it offers every employee owner.
About the Position:  If you’re a top notch electrical engineering leader with mission critical data center construction experience, you already thrive in an environment that changes rapidly, and intuitively understand how to master complexity. We’re looking for a leader who has both the technical engineering experience and the emotional intelligence to motivate and challenge a highly skilled team.  Someone who understands the importance of connecting their work to the bigger picture, and committed to energizing and developing the next generation of senior project managers.
Responsibilities: You will lead a regional team of engineering, marketing and administration for large and complex projects that typically generate $50 million in annual revenue. This includes managing conceptual estimating, systems analysis, value engineering and performance of all activities in line with the strategy, vision and values of our client.  You will also be expected to spearhead the commitment to an injury-free environment by modeling and mentoring others in all aspects of the firm’s safety, quality and culture.  You’ll enjoy the challenge of leading large, complex programs and project teams with multiple mechanical and electrical engineering managers, with all of the strategic planning and financial management that entails from managing budgets and maximizing profitability to generating future work through superior execution and strong relationships.
Requirements: In addition to a proven track record of performing the responsibilities above, the successful candidate must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical, but will consider mechanical or architectural with sufficient electrical engineering leadership experience)
  • Master’s degree in engineering or business management preferred
  • 15+ years construction management experience, including at least five years of people management and financial management experience.
To Apply: Please resume, project listing with dollar values, current salary, and any minimum salary requirements. If your background is a fit, we’ll respond with additional information and schedule a time to speak over the phone.
Referrals: Do you know someone who would be perfect?  Please feel free to forward this request for referral within your personal network, asking anyone to whom you send it to refer back to you as the source of the referral?
