Prominent, locally owned regional general contractor with a team of well trained professionals and leading-edge construction techniques has an opportunity for an experienced individual to manage their growing fleet of vehicles and equipment. The company operates in several specialty sectors in commercial and industrial construction. The Equipment Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the operations of all equipment; effective maintenance and repair programs; equipment safety programs; and equipment use on job sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
Work with the executive team to develop an annual capital budget.
Track the owned vs. leased equipment and make sure insurance company has the coverage for all the equipment the company is using.
Purchase or lease (obtain) equipment as needed by the Foreman.
Coordinate on a weekly basis with the Foreman’s equipment needs.
Make sure the company is tracking costs for downtime to be back-charged to vendors.
Sell the equipment no longer needed by the company.
Make sure all vehicles have fuel cards and follow up to make sure all the DOT, IFTA and other governmental paperwork is up to date.
Obtain license plates and registration from BMV for vehicles and equipment.
Ensure an I-Pass in place on all trucks and track costs of each.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required depending on relevant experience.
Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience as Equipment Manager or as a key person on an equipment management team.
Leadership ability and project management skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both internal personal at all levels, as well as, suppliers.
Experience with software and equipment management systems used by commercial and industrial contractors.
Excellent attention to detail including data and numeric information.
Self-motivated and energetic, with a strong work ethic.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point and strong Excel including Pivot Tables.
