Under the direction of the Architect Division Manager, cultivates strategic relationships within the architectural and design community whom, through consultative sales, shall support these practices and further develop specifications for our client whom is a one of the largest manufacturers of Building Materials in the US.
Essential Job Duties
Be a product expert and advise on the use and applications of companies products.
Uncover new quoting opportunities with architects.
Be the architect’s primary contact for technical questions
With manager assistance, retain project control during preliminary planning stages.
Use CRM tool for all architectural activity reporting
Conduct Lunch and Learn meetings to educate architectural firms on our product while gaining credits
Participate in Associations where the likely of meeting and interacting with architects is high
Track list of job leads, bid, and won (lost) from your architectural efforts.
Additional Job Duties:
Responsible and accountable for meeting company sales goals.
Actively call on architects, utilizing CRM, to learn jobs architects are currently designing.
Provide product and technical expertise in assisting architects with job requirements and specifications.
Provide presentations / demonstrations with products / literature expounding the benefits/value of being a preferred customer for the architectural community.
Promptly resolve/escalate ANY architectural issue, escalating to the Sales Manager/VP when necessary and appropriate.
Bring leads/plans to the attention of GM of Trade
Learn list of contractor bidders from “friendly” architects.
Target specific architects as directed by management.
Actively participate in networking associations (AIA, CSI, BRAGB, NARI, NESA, etc.).
Send company generated advertising/promo emails quarterly.
Distribute ADM’s and literature
Assist training new trade sales reps on architect interaction
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Construction background and industry experience preferred
5-10 years related Business Development experience
Architect involvement is a major plus.

Strong consultative selling skills responsible for developing / strengthening architectural relationships
Self motivated, flexible in work days/hours, able to work 40+ hours per week
Organized, efficient scheduling of daily selling events / activities
Professional in behavior and appearance
Construction / Industry / product knowledge, specification, blue prints familiarity.
Intermediate/advanced computer skills; calculator skills. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, CRM, etc..
Verbal and written English communication skills
Reasoning and problem solving skills
Interpersonal & organizational skills
Ethical., adaptable & detail oriented
Customer Satisfaction Skills
Dependable and Punctual

Ability to drive personal vehicle
Traveling by airplane is required periodically
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to ascend and descend stairs. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must posses a valid driver’s license. Employee may participate in the cross training of their peers.
