DescriptionCandidate will have familiarity with the application and installation of specialty geotechnical construction including such items as sheeting and shoring systems, underpinning, deep foundations and ground anchors. Experience in heavy construction or excavation acceptable. Must be able to work with the Engineering Department to design systems as required. Must be capable of communicating with Project Managers and Superintendents in developing the best means and methods of conducting the work so that an accurate estimate can be made. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop scope of work by breaking down a set of bid documents.
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Evaluate ground conditions, design parameters, and potential problems by review of geotechnical reports and soil boring logs
Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as required
Prepare take-offs, estimates and proposals.
Assist with prospects/client contact to obtain bids and confirm pricing.
